Below we tell you about the various air con training courses we offer and what you can expect to gain from them. These courses are run at our purpose built training centre in Bridgend, South Wales.

The F Gas Regulations, which came into force on 4th July 2007, make it illegal for any person or company to recover HFC refrigerants without being certified as competent. It is a legal requirement therefore to hold a certificate in Safe Handling of Refrigerants for anyone wishing to recover or charge, with refrigerant, any type of air conditioning system. The F Gas Regulations go further in July 2008, making the commercial installation of air conditioning equipment illegal without this refrigerant handling license.

Due to the massive increase in demand for both domestic and commercial split system air conditioners, Cooleasy have opened a dedicated air conditioning training centre at our Head Office in Bridgend, South Wales. Currently we offer two air con training courses held over 2 or 3 days.


Installation & Commissioning of Split Systems (4 days - £660.00)

(Includes the CITB Safe Handling of Refrigerants Certificate)
This 4 day course adds to the safe refrigerant handling course by offering students a sound knowledge of the installation and commissioning of split system air con units. It includes braising of copper pipe work, strength & pressure testing systems, leak testing and finding, principles of heat pumps, electrical theory and basic installation checks.

This comprehensive split system air conditioning training course is ideal for any persons wishing to pursue a career in the air conditioning industry including electricians, plumbers, conservatory installers, building contactors and mechanical engineers.

On completion of this course you will be entitled to purchase our units at a hugely discounted price allowing you to make a mark-up of upto 42% on retail pricing.

CITB Safe Handling of Refrigerants Certificate (2 day - £275.00)
This 2 day course will provide students with the underpinning knowledge and practical experience of handling refrigerants in a safe and competent manner. The second day of training will involve an open book examination on CITB Safe Handling of Refrigerants.

Students will be required to pass this exam in order to obtain the CITB certificate. This air con training course is ideal for air conditioning and refrigeration technicians and engineers, full term apprentices and all plant engineers or personnel concerned with the recovery, charging or disposal of refrigerants.

Service, Maintenance Efficiency Course (1 Day - £195.00)
This 1 day course follows the CITB certification in the safe handling of refrigerants. On completion you will be able to safely service maintain any split system air conditioning unit. The course is essential for anybody who is connected with the use and application of domestic commercial air conditioning units. It covers the legal and environmental implications associated with refrigerants.

This course can be taken on it's own or at the end of the 4 day split system installation course as an optional extra. Candidates will gain sufficient knowledge to service and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems. click here.
